How I Came to Winterville

My name is Devin Johnson and I have lived in Winterville since the Summer of 2021. An Ohio native, my journey to Eastern North Carolina began in 2009 when I enlisted in United States Marine Corps and subsequently chose to stay in Wilmington after I completed 5 years in the military in 2014; in 2017, I relocated to Pitt County.

Family

Like many people, my wife, Julianne and I, chose to make Winterville home because it offered the perfect balance of ‘quiet amenities’ to begin our family. Julianne and I met while we were both living in Wilmington and were married during the height of COVID-19 on Halloween 2020. It is our affinity with this spooky holiday that we love decorating the house and celebrating this day with Trick-or-Treaters.

Our family also includes (for now) three fur children who we adore and spoil constantly.

Faith

My faith is something that has taken a much more prominent role in my life as I have gotten older. I have been a Catholic for 25 years but only within the past few years have I found myself returning to the faith and am a parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Greenville. This past Easter, Julianne & I were able to mark a spiritual milestone through the Sacrament of Confirmation.
